Taking the Tube from Eccles

This pedestrian bridge over the M602 used to feel pretty unsafe to walk along. It had multi coloured glass sides, so was fully enclosed. It failed the "lone female" test (and the "lone male" test for that matter), once inside the tube you could not be seen from outside, and could feel trapped.

It was given a big makeover last year. It is now visible from all directions, including from the motorway itself. This lone male felt fine walking along it.

Not pretty (not ugly either, disqualification from today's challenge accepted). But entirely practical. If a little noisy.
