Gone!

As we were going to get bird food, we thought we would have a bit of a wander from Mungrisdale. This path, which follows the valley of the River Glenderamackin, is one we used to use a lot when we had a caravan near by. It was always a lovely place to wander with the dog. The path used to follow the river to a bridge over a beck. Then left would take you further along the valley and eventually to Blencathra; right climbs up The Tongue.

But the path at this point is no more. It was washed away after landslips in the last floods. Apparently there is a boggy detour and it is obvious that people have found ways of getting past this point, it is a popular route. We didn't try it today. Such a shame about the path. Great icicles though.
