Rainy Reflections

Coming out of the Metro we had just missed one of the day's rain showers. We were on our way to the Bibliotheque Forney--the elegant building in the background on the left for a wonderful exhibition of advertising posters by Charles Loupot (1892-1962). We went on to shows at the Centre Pompidou on David Goldblatt  (b.1930) and César (1921-1998)--both excellent. Goldblatt is from South Africa, and has photographed his country's history in documentary fashion for sixty years. The exhibition is large and impressive, with a half-dozen extensive videos in which he talks about his images and their context.  I've marked the map precisely--it shows the Forney as the Hôtel de Sens (the original name of the building).

Posted next day.  The bad text alignments above seem irreparable :(
