TREE SPARROW

We went to the Farmers' Market to buy up our weight in carbohydrates, and after I dropped B at home to begin making an inroad into the supplies, I went and got a bit of walking and fresh air at the RSPB reserve. Most of their sparrows are tree sparrows (with the black patches on their cheeks) and this one was having a bit of a territorial dispute with a blue tit and not taking a lot of notice of me.

The extra is more exciting than it looks, at least it is to me. I was just photographing the reflections when I realised there was a water vole (left) swimming along near the edge of the reeds. Of course by the time I could get any closer it had disappeared or it would have been my main blip.
