Now, as I see it......

Snow Patrol

We thought we'd got off lightly when we woke up this morning; a thin layer of snow on the ground but that was it. We'd planned a visit to a National Trust property near Exeter but took the cautious view and decided against it in case there was more snow. After breakfast, we decided to walk across to Teignmouth; a couple of miles across the estuary bridge where we would have a walk along the sea front before heading back. The walk across was fine but the snow was getting heavier and by the time we got into Teignmouth I resembled a snowman. We went for a coffee and in the half hour we were inside around four inches of snow built up on the ground. It was still falling (and has continued to fall all day) so I checked the bus timetables and we decided to get a bus back over to Shaldon. The bus came, but the driver said he would be taking a detour as he couldn't get up the hill in Shaldon, so we had to get off early and walk back across the estuary bridge. We were both dressed well for the weather so enjoyed the experience apart from the snow blowing into our faces, and have now had a bit of a lazy afternoon.

My main shot is the pier building which I added as an extra yesterday, now covered in snow. I've added a couple of extras of the estuary bridge in the snow, one of W (birthday girl) approaching the bridge, and one of our B&B (in pink) with the pub next door. I think we'll be in there again this evening.

Driving home tomorrow. Let's hope there's an overnight thaw!
