Building

In the interests of this not being just a series of photos of slightly (but elegantly) drunk people, here's a building.  In a big square (Placa Major?) in Madrid.

Not a great night's sleep, though our pal who has been waking regularly at 3 unable to sleep did discover that if you in fact just wait until after 3 to go to bed, then you sleep great!  My teeth were not 100% playing ball with the sleeping thing, but weather issues meant I was destined to spend the whole morning full stretch on a sofa.  So that was ok.

This morning was to be a trip to the Prado for some, and a wander for the others.  Rain stopped play.  And then, to our surprise, snow stopped play.  Two intrepid souls headed out for arty things, and then it was time to mobilise for lunch at the fabulous Fismuler - great food, excellent service and (we were on the big table) excellent people watching.  All in all a sparkling occasion.

Some wandering then through (mostly) sunshine to a market and various other shops, then home for a disco nap before hitting the town again.  Dinner was scavenged in the market from earlier (San Miguel) and then came the Flamenco show at La Taberna de Mister Pinkleton which was pretty darned fabulous.  What those folk don't know about foot stamping isn't worth knowing.  At one point their feet were moving so fast it seemed like they were levitating.

Anyway, happily it turns out that the flamenco spirit runs strong in Lesley and I so we threw some shapes outside, but I don't have any photos of that.  What a pity.

Perhaps inevitably, we decided that it was not a crazy idea to go back to the fabulous cocktail bar... (tbc)
