Hammersley Fountain

I missed the opportunity of taking a photo of this fountain a few weeks ago when we had the really freezing spell. But another blast of cold meant I could try again.

It was a beautiful sunny morning and I popped into Hanley Park, where it's located and took a few phone shots.

The fountain was first erected in 1894 but fell into disrepair. Both the park and the fountain have been restored with money from National Lottery grants. And the fountain was finally switched back on in the summer of 2017. It features 4 wonderful black dragon sculptures where the water falls out of their mouths.

That has given photographers the chance to take some great photos when it freezes!
