Helena and I met Shelly and our friends Susan and Alan at the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra concert. It was a fabulous program featuring pianist Philip Fisher. He played Glazinov's Prelude and Fugue in D minor and Piano concerto no 2 by Dmitiri Shostakovich. They had a camera above his hands and projected them on a small screen above the stage. It seemed a bit odd but you could see how fast his hands were moving. Totally amazing and his playing was beautiful. After the intermission the orchestra played Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov. That was one of the best performances of that work I've ever heard. The orchestra and all the soloists shone. We are so lucky to have a "community" orchestra here that sounds like a professional one. Bravo WSO!

After the concert we walked to Brandywine Kitchen and had dinner together. It was Alan and Susan's first meeting of Shelly. The five of us had a delightful time together.

I took Shelly and Helena home and after a brief visit with Shelly headed back to my house. It was a wonderful day
