White hellebore

This hellebore has been in bud since last autumn, and until now hadn't shown any sign of flowering. I blipped another similar one a few weeks ago, wondering if and when they would come out. This one turns out to be a lovely pure white one (apart from a slight flush of green at the base of the stamens) and has many more buds so I'm hoping it'll look really good a bit later on. It seems to lift its head a little more than most hellebores, straight after the flower has opened, so that's a bit of a bonus.

Cool weather hangs on, and seems determined to hold back the arrival of real spring conditions. It seems likely that there will be no mild day in March this year.
