Curtains of Hailstones

This wasn't the intended blip. I was coming in tonight and turned to catch a very atmospheric sky. Some place down there was enjoying the last of the evening sun; the hills were catching it but more in shafts of sunlight. In between, dark clouds reddened by the impending sunset were losing their grip on their load. Sheets of moisture were falling to the ground - only after it came to us did I realise it was hailstones. So I guess we have had our first fall of winter.

The intended blip can be retaken for another time. I might not see the hills like this again.
