Strong-cation exchange fractionation!

We began today at Rob's presentation to his department. My title is taken from one of his slides and I'm afraid my limited knowledge of science does not stretch to explaining its meaning to you, suffice to say we are both very proud of him and Becks. They make a good partnership in all ways.

Afterwards we took a walk in Sleeping Giant State Park, climbing up to the top of his head first which gave us great views across the forest and New Haven, and then on across the Giant's chest to the observation tower. We then returned to New Haven to have lunch at Rudy's before stocking up on supplies in readiness for Hurricane Sandy which is due to arrive here on Sunday or Monday and may scupper our plans of visiting Rog and Anne in Boston.
