HE IS RISEN!

After a restless night 
     with hardly any sleep 
          we got up and went out 
into the cool air 
     of the early morning
          with the spices and perfume 
               to embalm the broken body 
                    of our beloved friend, Jesus. 
The sun was just rising and
     on the way to the tomb 
          we were wondering 
               how we would 
move the huge stone 
     away from the entrance
          but when we arrived 
we were surprised to see that
     it had been rolled back -
          so we went inside. 
We were startled and
     quite frightened 
          because the light 
               inside the tomb 
                    was dazzling and blinded us. 
I’ve never seen an angel 
     but the person dressed in white 
          looked just like 
               I imagined one to be.
He told us that Jesus had risen and
     not to be afraid -
          but to go back 
               and tell the disciples 
                    what we had seen. 
Well, knowing them,
     I doubted they would 
          believe us
               but we decided 
                    to go anyway.
I know one thing for certain - 
     this will turn our world
