Bolero

We've been to Manchester today to see the matinee of Torvill & Dean's 'Dancing on Ice 2018' live tour.  We went to Birmingham a few years ago to see what we thought was going to be the last and final Torvill & Dean tour and even got to shake hands with Mr Dean himself, but lo and behold by popular demand, or something, the fabulous ice duo have been back again on the tele and are now in the middle of the resulting tour.

This is Kem and Alex performing the classic 'Bolero' dance which they did beautifully but not quite beautifully enough to win the show's coveted Ice Dance Trophy which the Judges decided to give to Jake Quickenden and his partner, who also won the TV show.

Our journey up to Manchester was vile in torrential rain but once we were parked up on the roof of the car park next door to the Arena and comfortably installed in our seats, that was all forgotten and we lost ourselves in the show.  Bit of a queue to get out of the car park, but which was very well organised by lots of cheerful staff and the journey home wasn't as bad apart from getting out of Manchester in the rush hour.

My extras are of Jake, Alex and Kem doing a bit of a 'Full Monty' routine, tops off only though! and our hosts, the legends who are; Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean.

PS:  Ooooops:  I'm no stranger to missing the boat on lots of things so it's come as no surprise to see that today I should have come up with a witty, creative or plain fantastic Blip to mark a Blip milestone. Our wonderful blip management did advise me a few days ago of this upcoming event but .......  I thought it was tomorrow so today's blip is less than celebratory in the blip sense and not meaning to be derogatory to the wonderful skating we saw this afternoon.

2000 blips, how time flies when you're having fun!
