Peebles Hydro

At some point during last night, the snow must have stopped because we woke up this morning to a snowy landscape glistening in sunshine. Suddenly there was a whole world of white hills and dark green forests before us where before there had just been an eerie white mist of sleet and snow. You could almost hear the collective sigh of relief from parents with children on holiday.

While His Lordship indulged in a lie in, I took advantage of the gym with its spectacular view to tread the light fantastic before we headed for breakfast.
My usual breakfast at home is really non existent but when confronted with tables groaning under every kind of food one might wish to eat it would be rude not to indulge, would it not? There was a distinct lack of self control on my part.

We had a quick round the hotel grounds before dragging our cases to the Edinburgh bus stop and reluctantly returning to the big smoke. I was amazed at how deep the snow lay between Peebles and Edinburgh, with Penicuik covered in several inches. It was like a déja vue of the Beast from the East’s handiwork last month- a winter wonderland.

My Blip is the view to the south from the front of the Hydro while the extra is of the Hydro itself taken from a snowy covered pitch and putting course.
