Farm life

One of the chores for today was cleaning out the chicks' cage. The little chicks were put in this blue box in the meantime. The chicken (human) mama pulled out the old lining and put in fresh newspaper and wood shavings. The chicks are sooooo cute. There are 2 Americanas (they lay blue eggs), and 4 hybrid sex-linked yellow chickens (they are very productive egg-layers).

I also helped my friend batten down the hatches for a storm that is supposed to bring heavy rain tomorrow. So she put up tarps around the chicken coop, we covered the outdoor furniture, and put away umbrellas and cushions.

Then we had lunch in Petaluma at the Goat Bistro - it was delicious. We both had a molded salad made of quinoa, greens, Brussel sprouts, with butternut squash and goat cheese. We also picked up an apple-pecan-crunchy-salted-caramel-topped pie for dinner at fellow blipper Wildwood's beautiful home. She made a great dinner and we feasted on pie for dessert. The extra is a picture of Wildwood and me bookmarking our delightful friend Tobi.
