Dexter: Mama, Can't You Stay Home Today?

This was the sad little face that was looking at me as I was getting ready for work Thursday morning. Dexter was sitting in a sunbeam, looking quite pensive. I could tell by that look that he wanted me to stay home and sit with him.

Would I like to stay home and curl up with the cat? Yes, of course! But hey, somebody has to keep the wolf away from the door, so off I went. You see what I'm dealing with here, people: with dear Dexter giving me that look, how hard it is for me to leave!
