Magnolia soulangeana bud.

Clickychick was out with a student, so I was having a quiet day round home getting on with a few of the jobs which need done.  Part way through the day I realised I hadn't "exposed any electrons".

Lacking inspiration I wandered round the garden.  There are a number of things I regularly take in case I get nothing better.  Well I took them and then I spotted the Magnolia bud starting to swell.  I thought if I could get the texture it would make an interesting shot.  So here it is.
