Seend Cleeve ( Sunday 8th April 2018)

Today was the first time I'd been out in the car since last Thursday week for one reason or another. On my way home for once I didn't call at Caen Hill, but drove up Bowerhill Lane for a walk along the canal towards Seend. There were signs of spring with lesser black-backed gull activity, pussy willow and emerging wildflowers, and I didn't entirely miss out on swan sightings as there was a pair on the towpath (see Extra).

Aphex Twin - Goon Gumpas (1996)
Miranda Sawyer's programme Sound And Vision  this week featured the Glaswegian film director Lynne Ramsay discussing the music in her films. She made the excellent film Morvern Callar  starring Samantha Morton in 2002, from which this Aphex Twin instrumental was played. The end of the programme included some pieces created by Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead for her 2017 film And Then There Were None, including Tree Strings.
