Blossom through Blinds

We are in Takayama today which is a lovely town surrounded by mountains (Snow-capped).  The old town contains some beautiful old timber buildings made by highly skilled carpenters in the past.  It is also well-known for its sake brewing.  It's an interesting place and there is much more to do than we have been able to see in one day.  The hida beef is also delicious and we are going to sample some more of that this evening.

This shot was taken in the Takayama Jinya, which was the government office when it was built in 1615.  It was then turned into the Shogunate Provincial Office in 1692. Visitors can see many interesting rooms including offices, courts, living areas, the jail and the torture room...

There are some beautiful spaces and shapes in the building and I loved the garden - particularly this view through the blinds.

Indistinct through shades,
Blossom flutters in the wind
Delicate beauty.
