Barren strawberry

I thought it was time for another flower study, especially as I spent the afternoon at the AGM of the Botanical recording society - which was quite an experience, and a sound lesson in how little I do actually know!
This beautiful (and tiny) spring flower is the Barren strawberry Potentilla sterilis also called the strawberryleaf cinquefoil it is a member of the rose family Rosaceae.
It can be distinguished from the very similar wild strawberry by the gaps between the 5 pretty heart-shaped white petals.
