Stage 1

A long journey took up most of my day today as I set off to Derbyshire for the Living the Passion 2012 conference. Some plans to travel down with some folk from Motherwell had come to nothing, so I ended up with some lovely people from Bellevue Chapel in Edinburgh, whom I met at the Calton Rd exit from Waverley station, which is something of a building site at present. We hit our first traffic jam in Newcastle (who has traffic jams at 3:15 on a Friday was our first question, but in speaking to a friend from Newcastle who had made it to the conference, they left at 2:30 and got caught too, so it seems a bit of a nightmare spot), and then another one at each major city we passed, missing our dinner and arriving after the evening session had started, not much short of 2 hours after we had planned to arrive. We were very glad to get there, and it was great to see old friends and to get some great Bible teaching. It's going to be a great weekend!
