End of the season

Our final concert (for the moment) in the cathedral in Carcassonne -- an imposing but refrigerator-cold venue. Trickiest conditions yet, as Florent was playing the cathedral organ at the far end of the cathedral from us. So far that he had to set up microphones at our end so he could hear us. We had no problem hearing him ... it was loud, but with a disconcerting time lag.

Still, no major mishaps despite the shivering, and it was distinguished by a brief mini-blipmeet between me and SooB who brought her whole family along to hear us. We'd also picked B up from Narbonne earlier. I gave S my cameras, so the photo is courtesy of him. Unfortunately the lurid red glow from the ridiculously inadequate heaters built into the light fittings did not lend itself to good photos. There are enough to put a few on the website though.

It was a tiring day -- we didn't get home till well after eleven, after leaving home at 5:30, and by then S and I were so peckish, having had no dinner, that we feasted on leftover macaroni cheese, chocolate biscuits, and herb tea, while B contented herself with a glass of wine.
