MATCH DAY

WE ARE THE GEORDIES THE COCK OF THE NORTH

Newcastle were playing at home today against Arsenal.  1.30pm kick off.  The weather was lovely - dry, sunny and warm.  And the atmosphere was great.  And the result was the best.  Newcastle 2  Arsenal 1.  Newcastle United will not be relegated.  What a relief.

I put together a few shots for a collage.  The top one shows some letters held up by the crowd in The Gallowgate End. Below that are the two large Newcastle flags being paraded around the pitch and a view of the outside of St James Park.  The bottom shot shows some of the Arsenal fans with their flag.

After the match I popped into Waitrose.  Got a few food bargains which were reduced in price. 

Becky took part in the Brighton Marathon this morning.  Her previous best marathon time was 4 hrs 12 mins.  Her time today was 3 hrs 43 mins.  What a wonderful improvement.  Well done Becky.  Mind you she has trained well for 5 months.  And she hasn't drunk any alcohol for 4½ months.  Such dedication.  I have put three photos in a collage as an Extra shot.  Two with her medal - and one enjoying some well deserved booze.
