Setting up home

This Thrush has set up her nest amongst the annuals for sale in the garden department of our local HB.  Apparently quite a few birds do this each year but none have been quite so on view to the public as this one.  It was a lovely sight and the nice staff were building a little barrier around her to afford some privacy, together with a DO NOT DISTURB - BIRD NESTING sign.  The garden staff are kind and I wish the Thrush family every success in raising their family.  I shall be back, of course, to check on progress.

The sun shone brightly today and I spent some time in the garden for a bit of a tidy up and whilst doing so came upon a  little frog, no longer alive but extremely petrified (changed into a stony substance:  ossified)*  and still in the shape of him taking the leap of faith, but not actually getting there  - poor chap.

Extras:  another view of the Thrush sitting tight and the petrified  frog.
