A Basking Bee

Another early walk with Finlay (7 a.m.) as we had to go to our daughter’s house today (some jobs that needed to be done).

Whilst walking along the path I almost trod on this bumble bee that was resting on the ground. It didn’t move at all as I shoved the camera near to it (about 1 cm away in macro mode) - so I hope it was okay and just warming up in the early morning sunshine. It does look rather good in large.

I fixed up a washing line in our daughter's garden and tidied some cupboards - then we went out to Anglers Country Park near Wakefield for lunch and a short wander. Jessica played on the climbing frames but complained about them being too hot to touch. We also had an ice cream to cool down afterwards!
