How I almost lost my hat

It was very windy today. I was looking at this building and, despite believing in energy efficiency, wishing I could get a picture of it at night with the offices lit up, along with the neon design. The wind took my hat, carried it across the sidewalk, and then into the street, in front of an approaching car. Fortunately, the car stopped, I got my hat, bowed to the driver, and got out of the road.

Or not the end, since both my hat and I survived.
