The Rain in Spain

After a glorious day in La Rochelle yesterday it was disappointing to wake today in Bilbao to the sight of howling winds and sheeting rain.
As we had actual breakfast in the Lido we watched people struggling to the shuttle buses in the awful conditions we made the reluctant decision not to go into the city. The main reason we chose this itinerary was so we could go to the Guggenheim museum and explore Bilbao which looks amazing.
Normally we're not put off by a bit of weather but it was so bad and forecast to be so relentless that we decided it was a bit pointless to go and battle against the elements, have a brief look round and then come back to the ship with a big sigh of relief.
All the same I couldn't help feeling a bit pathetic. Bloody weather!
So we had a lazy day - eating, drinking, reading and snoozing. Despite my disappointment at missing Bilbao there are worse ways to spend a day!!
The day flew - there's a definite time warp going on and despite doing very little, there's not enough time to fit it all in!
I'm so disappointed to have missed Bilbao. We'll definitely have to come back.
