Onwards

I’ve moved on.

I’ve gone from the heart of a massive city, to a quiet village in a quiet part of Kıbrıs. I’m in Kumyalı on the south shore of the Karpaz Peninsula - the most easterly part of the island.

In between... another lovely breakfast. Tomato, cucumber, olives, soft white cheese, hard white cheese, a boiled egg, melon, fresh bread.

More gossip with Doǧan, this time along with his neighbour and two municipal building inspectors.

Then the cab to the airport. A giggle with the check in person as we both used our  basic Russian to help out 3 ladies who spoke no English or Turkish.

A bit of good natured banter at passport control after that, as I explained I knew I was in the wrong queue (Turkish passports only) but the person in charge of queue management had told me to go there.

Another punctual and pleasant flight with Turkish Airlines, but much shorter. 1 hour 40 minutes. Then the rented car and a 1 hour drive east from Ercan Airport.

I’m in another guesthouse here. It will be another early night.

The Blip is the view from the breakfast terrace this morning. Aya Sofya looking good in the spring sun.
