Unexpected

I spotted the evening light on the Cité de Carcassonne as we were driving home from the cinema. I persuaded S to do a detour, so we drove down a side street we've never been down before and suddenly there it was, popping up beyond the houses like a cardboard cutout. This isn't its best side as the light was hitting it from the right, but there was no time to get a better angle. So here's a different view from the usual.

We'd been to see Agnès Jaoui's new film, Place Publique. I wouldn't say it was her and Jean-Pierre Bacri's best effort; he always plays basically the same person nowadays (albeit extremely well), and parts of it were like being at a party where everyone's drunk except you. But there were some laughs and a great range of colourful characters. The music (some of it composed by Agnès Jaoui) was excellent as well. So it was good entertainment overall, on a grey and cloudy afternoon.
