Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Patch

A patch of something purple caught my eye, where Acre Cottage used to be on the moor. I thought it might be Red Deadnettle but the leaves seem to have a pale stripe down the middle (clearer in the extra) which doesn't match any images that I've come across. Given there used to be a cottage here, perhaps something naturalised? Flora experts, feel free to guide me...

The late evening light was good further down the valley, and  across to Rawdon Billing on the horizon.

Postscript: Many thanks to @gennepher who has identified it as one of the cultivars of Spotted Deadnettle, the variety Lamium maculatum 'Roseum'.
