Busy at work catching up with administrative stuff. We also celebrated Kathy Whaler receiving an OBE. I try to leave the monarchy well alone, but Kathy certainly deserves the honour. She became Professor of Geophysics when I arrived in Edinburgh. I did some projects with her as an undergraduate and she looked after me as a PhD student.

We went to see the new Avengers film. Loved the Edinburgh bits but wasn't convinced by the film.
