Scything Through The Air

I went to Heybridge Basin to hear, see and photograph a cuckoo. I achieved my aim but the bird was way in the distance. They're easy to pinpoint as they sing their name as they fly and they look like birds of prey.

My image is of a flock of waders, possibly dunlin. While I was poking about in the scrub getting pics of warblers they flew over twice. I was startled each time by the very loud swish of their wings. They were too quick for me to get a shot from that position. The above was taken from the vantage point of the sea wall.
