Disposal at the end of service

Maidstone Model Engineering Club in Mote Park is always a good place for a blip especially so at the end of the day when members are in the process of disposing their engines ready to take them home. The detail and skill that goes into these locos is amazing and their operation requires the same level of skills as a full sized locos, perhaps not such hard work or so hot as on the footplate of the real thing.

A hot morning at the allotment, weeding and clearing the last bit of uncultivated space. Now the grass needs cutting and the edges of the beds trimmed. Then sowing more beans and peas.

As it was another fine day we had a barbeque in the afternoon. We still have a charcoal barbeque so I kippered the neighbours for 10 minutes while it came to temperature. Usual stuff followed by barbequed bananas which had chocolate stuffed into the split before being wrapped in foil. Very nice eaten with cream.

Three perfect days for a bank holiday weekend. Hope your weekend was good too.
