La fira de la castanya

Today is a public holiday in Spain (All Saints). So we took (part of) the day off. Steve went walking in the morning; I met him at the Far de Sant Sebastia, the lighthouse above Llafranc, and then we had an expensive but nice lunch at the nearby hotel. Yes, it was a glorious sunny day, warm enough to sit outside -- a bit of a contrast to yesterday!

In Begur, there is a four-day Fira de la castanya -- a chestnut festival. We strolled up there this evening to find the square far more lively than it has been the last couple of weeks. There were stalls selling local produce, including freshly roasted chestnuts of course, and a pretty pink caravan selling pancakes. After our copious lunch we weren't hungry, but we had a couple of beers in our favourite tapas bar, which was doing a roaring trade.
