Fashionista

This is Ondine. Yes, that is a real name, why do you ask?

Ondine writes a fashion-ranty-bloggy thing called Bugwear (she was even blog of the month on the whole of Wordpress or something recently). Anyway, Ondine is a good, if slightly unhinged, friend, who works too hard, and forgets a startling amount of what happens on a night out after demonstrating a capacity for alcohol. But she's got this fashion blag, which is the important thing for this post, and a while back she mentioned she was after some photos for the blog cos she wasn't happy with the self-timer-in-the-flat type things. And I needed a model to get some practice in with portrait shots. You'd think that would make the perfect match.

When we first started talking about doing this the days were still warm(ish) and the nights were still long. So tonight was just an on-the-fly confluence of a few ideas, with a promise to do something better and more interesting (and in daylight) at a later date.

All brings to mind a conversation I had in my previous job with a girl who did some modelling on the side.

"You should try it out," she said, and I can't help but feel slightly flattered by the mere thought, before she added, "Yeah, they don't care what someone actually looks like."

She was German. I put it down to being lost in translation. Yeah. That's what it was.
