Farmers' Market

The first-ever Farmers' Market in Wooler this morning, and it was good to see the town buzzing. Lots of people out, locals and holiday-makers, not just at the market, but on the High Street too. Attempts to walk past the 'Country Kitchen' stall failed miserably, and we went home with scones and a lemon drizzle cake. Couldn't resist the plant stalls either, and we acquired some geraniums and tagetes.

After a day of DIY (remind me never, ever again to move in to an old property requiring extensive 'redecoration'), we decided that cooking dinner was't a very attractive idea. So I made some sandwiches and we set off for the Ingram Valley, where we ate our picnic beside the River Breamish and watched fish jumping for flies. Then MrM drove us to the end of the road and we walked down the track as far as the stream - lovely views of the hills, and good to stretch our legs.
