Spring Deep Down in New Forest's Beeches

Fairly early morning sunshine lights up traditional beeches, a glorious sight, trunk outlines dancing against the shimmering fresh young lime green leaves .

Bums in the air, as a herd of fallow see me before I see them. Their startled rustling through the previous autumn's leaves alert me to their departure - and their previous presence.

Ferns shooting up, so fast, you can almost see them extending, towards the warm sunshine.

An hour later and the light was too high to look anywhere near as nice.

A couple of new foals, plenty of fresh nutritious grass to feed their mothers.

Only one woman and her dog. No mobile signal, whatsoever.

Perfick.
