THE CRANETTES ARE HERE!

The baby cranes have finally arrived, and judging by their size, they have been in hiding for a week or so.

Me and a couple from Wisconsin had the family of four cranes to ourselves. Dad, mom, and two babies. The babies were beyond cute, but the parents quickly led them out into the weeds, and out of the sunshine.

Before we discovered the babies, I had another crane couple all to myself for 49 minutes. 49 minutes, and the couple didn't move 10 feet. They just posed and posed and posed.

I put one picture of the crane couple into the Extras (the tongue shot!), and added 22 more photos on my Flickr page. Cranes, other birds, goat kids, piglets, and a horse.

It was a fun morning, and also a great weather day...80F (25C) and sunny.
