Waterfall at Glen Rosa

This morning we called for a sourdough loaf from the wonderful bakery in Blackwaterfoot and then drove to Glen Rosa for our walk.

It’s been hot and sunny so sunhats, sunglasses and suncream and no coats! The walk was through stunningly majestic and wild scenery passing a number of waterfalls on our way.

We saw a golden eagle over one of the crags and there were two to three male cuckoos calling. At one point we heard the call of the female close to one of the males so hope that they will pair up. We had a brief sighting of one but it was a long way away.

We walked almost to the foot of this mountain (Beinn Nuis) before retracing our steps. It was a fantastic walk and we really enjoyed it.

When we got back to the car we made cheese and pickle sandwiches with the bread we’d bought. We’d taken food on the walk but saved the sandwiches for afterwards. They tasted so good!

The extra is the mobile bank parked at Blackwaterfoot. There can’t be many more scenic locations than this!
