George Dixon School

My father was born in Eccles in Manchester but by the time he was secondary school age, he was living in Birmingham with his mother and father.  He attended George Dixon Boys School in City Road.  It so happened that I was doing a presentation at the church next to the school today so I decided to take a few snaps to show him.  He doesn't talk much about his school days but he did tell me the other day about the services the whole school used to go to in the church.  Mom always talks about him playing rugby for the school and being a very fast runner.

On a different note, the weather here has been very lively over the last 24 hours.  There was one clap of thunder in the middle of the night that was the scariest one for a very long time!  They are promising more overnight.  My new little car had to drive through a flood today as the drains are not coping well with the amount of rain we have had.

Hope it's a bit better tomorrow as we are going to a bbq.
