St Botolph's Church, Skidbrooke

Today being a relatively free day, we decided to have a trip out somewhere to find a Blip. We'd hoped for a lovely sunny day on which to head to the coast. Instead it dawned grey and murky, so we had to revise our plans, and chose to go and investigate the abandoned church at Skidbrooke.

It was an Anglican church, and dates from the early 13th century, and was declared redundant in 1973. It's been named as the most haunted church in Britain, and has a history of use by Satanists in the '70's and '80's. It didn't have a heavy atmosphere at all, and I felt very much at ease there. Make of that what you will...

After exploring and taking lots of photos, we went off to get some lunch in Mablethorpe. I'd like to say it was my first view of the sea this year, but it was so foggy you couldn't really see the sea at all.It was also windy! I don't know how it can be both - you'd expect the wind to blow the fog away! We didn't hang around there, and came home straight after we had eaten a late lunch!
