Brass Rubbing

We made an early start, leaving the flat at 07:30 to see the Charles Bridge. We had been yesterday but it was jammed with bl**dy tourists :-)

On the way I spotted this line of yellow plastic penguins (see extra). I know not what purpose they serve, but anything with a penguin is worth a shot for me.

Took us about 30 minutes to walk and we were able to get about fine. Lots of wedding photography going on. Spotted this chap rubbing the brass plaque for good luck…you can see the cleaning effect that millions of wishes have had!

Then we went up the funicular railway (pleased to find that our Metro passes covered this journey too). At the top we had coffee and pastries and then went up to the top of the observation tower - a climb of 300 steps (well for two of us anyway, someone took the lift) - but the views were spectacular.

Walked to the castle, stopping on the way for lunch and whilst we were inside there was an amazing hail and thunder storm. See extra .. which includes a bright blue Trabant vehicle, there were a few about later. Car alarms were set off and at least one car window shattered.

The castle was way too busy to see anything other than general views, so we walked back down to the city and got the metro back home. Caught up on sleep!
