First of the Season #2

We were thinking of going to Paignton to the Torbay Airshow today but in the end we didn't. We did get a few good views of planes on their way there including the Lancaster that turned and flew in front of the house on the way out. I've added a couple from the airshow in the extras.

After the display had finished I hadn't heard the steam train come back down the line (the first steam train of the season). It was due in about 20 minutes so I just had time to get down to the line. There were a few people on the bridge so i asked whether it was on time. They always know, they have the app, and one told me it was a little late. That was good, it gave me time to get further down the line rather than take a shot from the bridge.

She arrived pretty soon after I'd found a place up the embankment at the edge of the line. There's no fence there. She's the 35028 Clan Line a Southern Railway Merchant Navy class locomotive built at Eastleigh and she started service in December 1948 and took it's 'Farewell Special' from Waterloo to Bournemouth in July 1967 (isn't the internet a wonderful thing, you can get all the info and sound like a real railway nerd without actually having to be one).
