Dead end

For this vehicle anyway. We enjoyed a lovely walk from the village of Montlaur to Roquenégade this morning. It had a bit of everything: fine panoramic views over vine-filled plains, fields full of poppy-sprinkled barley, lush meadows, and masses of varied wild flowers, including a plethora of pyramid orchids (extra) -- and some orchidées bouc, so called because they smell like billy goats. It was quite an easy walk too, although we did the last part at a cracking pace as some French people can't countenance being late for lunch (spoiler: they were). Little opportunity to take photos as we hardly ever stopped. 9 km, 160 m climbing, 2 1/2 hours. Definitely a walk to save and do again at a more leisurely pace.

Home to bake bread and make yogurt, so I'm feeling virtuous now.
