An ordinary life....

Sunny D...

Woke to another blue sky, sunshiny day.  Unbelievable and wonderful in equal measure.

Bruce the landscaper and his lads were here at 8am sharp.  I know they need the weather to be dry to lay the resin bound gravel but I don't envy them doing the job in the baking sun.  It's back breaking work as after the resin is mixed and put down, it is spread by hand just as a plasterer would plaster a wall.  Bruce is meticulous, a real perfectionist so no rush job.  We kept them supplied with jugs of iced water with lemon and lime.  I am sure they would rather have been enjoying the sun with their feet up and a beer!

Alan and Jordan headed out for a walk down the town late afternoon and we decided go to Broadslap for coffee (peppermint tea for me :-) with Lola.

The weather was so glorious we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine.  David had a slice of pear and almond tart (they have a French chef now and his patisserie is amazing) and I had an Empire biscuit.  Lola enjoyed a Frozzy, it helped keep her cool.

Lin was there and she came and chatted to us and made a fuss of Lola.  Her gun dog training classes start next Tuesday and David will be taking Lola.  It will be hard work but I am sure they will have lots of fun.

Back home and Alan went for a swim with Jordan, Shelley and our newest recruit to the support team, Lisa.  Alan has really taken to Lisa, which is fantastic.  Just as well Jordan and Shelley have thick skins and know him as he was only interested in Lisa.

This evening David was meant to be spending time trying to fix my laptop but that plan was scuppered when he accidentally dropped a wine glass on the garden room floor and of course with it being a tiled floor, the glass shattered into a million tiny pieces and flew everywhere, necessitating sweeping, a thorough hoovering of the whole room and a wipe over with a damp floor cloth.  I am paranoid Lola ends up with a sliver of glass in her paw.  I think we have it all now, fingers crossed.

And so my lap top will have to wait until tomorrow.
