Heathland Flutter

They say practice makes perfect so today Verity & I set off on a navigation day east of Fan y Big, spent finding little contour features such as re-entrants, bends in rivers, sources, spot heights and odd shapes in the contours. It was a good seven hours and we really enjoyed it, despite the grey sky and foggy summit.

We are both a little tired though, Verity’s little two year old grandson did not sleep well. Tonight should be much better with a group of Anglia Region Guiders . We are in a super clean and well provisioned Scout centre at Plas Dolygaer in the Brecon Beacons.

My blip is of a Small Heath butterfly and the extra is of Heath Speedwell.

Sadly there’s no WiFi at the scout hut so I wrote this yesterday but back blipping quickly from the car after Saturday’s walk.
