When the Foeman Bares his Steel (SilS88)

Gill's choir, Swan Singers, had their summer concert yesterday in the village hall.  They have developed really well since they started and can now put on concerts with a wide repertoire.   For silly Saturday I have chosen this image of Bob performing When the foeman bares his steel  (Tarantara Tarantara)  from the Pirates of Penzance.  The song is normally performed by the Sergeant, a Chorus of Policemen and Mabel, Bob sang all of the parts himself and chose to illustrate who was singing by opening a spring loaded umbrella when it was Mabel's turn.   There was a fair degree of walking about among the audience ... who were largely in stitches.  Bob has a wonderful dead-pan sense of humour and before retiring was a history teacher ... having heard him introduce the song I can just imagine what his lessons were like!

Tagged for silly Saturday - the alternatives were Gill and Sue performing Poisoning Pigeons in the Park or Greg performing the Masochism Tango, assisted by Gill and Sue, both by Tom Lehrer.

They did sing a few normal songs too :-)
