Naburn

Straight after singing in Bingley this morning we headed over to deliver some tomato plants to friend A who lives near York.
Chris started this tradition when she lived in our village.

We had a very pleasant lunch and chat sat outside in her garden. When she had to leave to pick up her children we went on to take a look at the nearby Naburn Locks. Last year she took us to York Marina which is in Naburn but we didn't see the Locks. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2344163018104901219
Both are on the River Ouse.

It was very pleasant just having a wander around. There were quite a number of Greylag geese with their young so you had to watch where you put your feet! Two or three barges were moored up and a couple of houseboats but I don't know if any intended going through the two parallel locks.
I did wonder why they were needed here but soon discovered a huge wier at the end of the Marina just to the left of left hand building.

Avery pleasant afternoon. Thank you A.
