Yes, BOTH cats were curious about the above ground splash pool we set up on June 8. They were specifically very curious about the process of filling it up! Since Steve & I have elected to stay home in Florida this summer, with Steve recovering from his hip replacement, we decided to get this inexpensive way to cool off.
We used to have a hot tub in this space. We brought that with us from Connecticut when we moved in 2009. But we were not using it here - it's too hot most of the year, so we had it removed. This space on the paver patio was empty for some time until Steve almost jokingly suggested we get a splash pool (kiddie pool!!). Well, I love water & love to swim so I took his idea and ran with it. I found a fairly large (118" x 79" x 26") pool with supports that was rectangular. So far, we love it so much we've been going in once or twice a day! There is lots of room - You can float, sit in it with water up to your shoulders, do a few leg or arm exercises, walk around the pool on your hands while you kick your feet . . . it has a small pump and a small floating chlorinator so we can just keep the water instead of change it. It is so much fun! In fact, I'm off to meet Steve there now. I'm adding this photo on our Anniversary (June 11th) and it is time for a dip before going out to dinner to celebrate! :o)
There's an extra pic of the whole thing in the "extras".
