Un petit coin de paradis

... contre un coin de parapluie. Guess where we are now? We escaped from grey, rainy Languedoc to blue skies yesterday. It was an aggravating journey -- it started badly when the train to Toulouse took two hours instead of the advertised one. We rushed out of the station and got a taxi to the airport instead of the bus, whizzed through security, and felt well pleased with ourselves when we pitched up at the gate with 20 minutes to spare. To discover that the plane was an hour late. Still, by 10 pm we were in Mas Que Tapas in Almuñecar drinking wine and eating croquetas. So all's well that ends well.

This morning we were up early to see a potential house rental for this winter. Well, as you can see it's a little corner of paradise. And despite looking so rural, with a wild garden for Mystère, it's five minutes' walk from shops and beach. Perfection! We were ready to sign up on the spot.

See the extra for where we were this afternoon ... our favourite beach. No, it's definitely not warm enough to swim, but that didn't stop us lying on sun loungers reading, and eating ensalada tropical for lunch.
